Jonny was born the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dabkowski, and lived in Tarentum, Pennsylvania. He was a dedicated boy scout, and also loved to play football as Number 64 for the Highland Hornets. He was last seen around 5:30 PM on January 14, 1982, when he and his friend, Gabriel Minarcin, were walking to Minacrin's home a few doors down from Dabkowski's house. They never arrived, and it was the last time he and Jon Dabkowski were ever seen. A massive search involving scuba divers and bloodhounds followed, along with a house to house search. It is now believed that they may have fallen through the ice on the Allegheny River near their homes due to tracks leading to it, but none coming out. A neighbor also reported seeing two boys walking near the river. He was never found, and is survived by his parents and siblings. This is his only place of remembrance.
