Aaron Varner, 19, finished his race and now lives cancer-free with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who walked with Aaron through his 2 ½ year battle with colon cancer. Aaron was born July 13, 1987, to Dennis and Lynda (Shankel) Varner. He graduated from Bullock Creek High School in 2006. Aaron loved the performing arts and was in the high school production of "Sound of Music" and the Center for the Arts production of "Seussical the Musical". He also enjoyed playing the tuba in the BCHS band. Aaron was a member of Messiah Lutheran church since birth. He also actively participated in the Midland County Relay for Life. Aaron is survived by his parents Dennis and Lynda Varner of Midland; his brother Derek Varner of Troy; his sister Katherine Varner of Midland; grandparents Nancy and Valdo Shankel of Wheeler and Arlene Varner of Merrill. Aaron was predeceased early this year by his grandfather, Lawrence Varner. Aaron is also survived by his great grandfather Merle (Edna) Rhoads of Bradenton, Florida; Uncles Van (Anne) Varner of Plymouth, Greg (Joan) Varner of Breckenridge, Paul (Linda) Varner of Auburn, Mark (Janet) Varner of Davison; Aunts Lorri (Rich) Tupica of Breckenridge, Julie (Kyle) Bolt of Wheeler, Margie (James) Dittmer of Beaverton, June (Tad) Eastman of Midland, Carol (Tim) Little, Jeannette (Greg) Roehrs of Beaverton, Christine (Charlie) Noffsinger of Stockbridge; and many cousins and friends.
