The majority of known facts regarding Cynthy (Cinthia/Cynthia) have been obtained from her husband's Civil War Pension File, U.S. Censuses and other documents. She was likely born in Cannon County, TN, to unknown parents. She married Asberry Z. Driver in the home of his brother on 25 Dec 1855. Their daughter Nancy was born in Tennessee before the family moved to Kentucky in the latter 1850s. Three more children were born in Kentucky, i.e., William N., Frances T. and Asberry G.

On 19 Feb 1868, Cynthy's husband died as result of disease and health problems related to his service in the Union Army during the war. His burial location is assuredly in this county and likely in this cemetery, but has not yet been confirmed.

Cynthy did not apply for a widow's pension until 1884 and apparently lived a meager existence from the time of her husband's death until the pension was approved in 1890.
