Kathleen Marie (Dinkel) Blake, 56, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012. She was born July 21, 1955, in Hays to Fred and Catherine "Katie" (Flax) Dinkel. She grew up in Ellis, graduating from Ellis High School in 1973.

She married Steven George Blake on July 24, 1976, in Ellis.

She enjoyed cooking and working in the food service industry for most of her life. She loved to ride their Harley-Davidson. She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Legion Riders Post No. 408 in Derby/Haysville and the Kansas Patriot Guard.

Survivors include her husband, Steve; three sons, Aaron, Derby, Eric Blake and wife, Diane, and Kenneth Blake and wife, Sabrina, all of Belle Plaine; a daughter, Dawn Sturgeon and husband, Aaron, Belle Plaine; six brothers, Harold Dinkel and wife, Carol, Fred Dinkel and wife, Coleen, Steven Dinkel and wife, Laura, and Chester Dinkel, all of Ellis, Henry Dinkel, Sharon Springs, and Edward Dinkel and wife, Kathy, Assaria; six sisters, Virginia Weigel and husband, Charlie, Eufaula, Okla., Marilyn Denning and husband, Clarence, Colby, and Helen Fischer and husband, Henry, Vera Haver and husband, Wayne, Marjorie Mickelson and husband, Bob, and Bernadette Dinkel, all of Ellis; nine grandchildren; and 50 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Mike and Fred Jr.; and a sister, Bernice.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary Faith Center, 2300 E. Meadowlark, Derby. A rosary will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the center.
