Junior was the oldest of three children born to Irma Beatrice Rider and Edwin Milnor Booth, Sr. On November 23, 1936, he married June Ruth Kline at Shickshinny, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, and the ceremony was performed by Rev. Charles Diehl. The couple raised three sons and two daughters.
He was the owner and operator of Booth's Coal Service, a coal trucking firm in Eagles Mere.
