What is it in the name to be given of such a great person; awesome, dynamic, resourceful, loving, gifted and spiritual? The words can never describe the remarkable person here before you. We are not saying goodbye only that we were blessed to have known her presence.

Born September 22, 1942, in Baltimore, MD. Born to a loving father Peter and named after her loving mother Lena.

She attended Brooklyn Hospital School of Nursing. Upon completion of nursing school she attended St. Francis College to obtain her Bachelor of Arts. Achievement has always been a part of her life. While working full time as a school nurse for the Board of Education, she achieved not one but two Masters Degrees from Long Island University.

Her love of helping people lead her to serve over 30 years faithfully for the State of New York. Office of Mentally Retarded Developmentally Disabled.
In her service, she was instrumental in the transition of the developmentally disabled person from institutional life to live in the community. Although she worked in a supervisory position, she was always approachable.

As a mother she was always demanding as far as the standard that she set. Her progressive way of looking at life, led her children to enjoy and taste life and to not be afraid of the unknown.
As a friend, she was your best friend. A friend that did not know the word no, I can't help you. She was able to see your needs and the direction you needed to go in before you would ask her the question. She loved without limitation.

After a long illness, she went on to a better party last Sunday the 16th of August at 7:00 p.m. and arrived on time.

In her departure, she leaves family, friends, former co-workers, and a host of other acquaintances. In saying this, it is not that she has left us but she continues to live within us. Remember her favorite quote, "If it ain't broken don't fix it."

Survivors include her husband of thirty-five years, Lawrence Greene; her children, Keith Greene and his wife, Diann; Kevin Greene and his wife, Pascal and Karen Hinton and her husband, Stanley; her sister, Shirley Parker; her beloved aunt, Cora Sample; her grandchildren, Keith, Jr., Keith "Trey," Khadijah, Kristen, Brandon, David, Joshua, Sarah, Asia and Aaron; her dear friend, Adrian Bills; Tyreid Harry who was like a grandson to her and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2009 at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2611 South Avenue, Wappingers Falls. Services will follow at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the family plot in Rosehill Cemetery, Linden, New Jersey.
