Born in Clarke County Ga. Occupation Farmer. Joined Phillips Legion in April 1862. Phillips Legion was assigned to the Army of Northern Virginia. Participated in All major Battles of the Civil War. Had 3 Brothers: William P. Fenn - Killed in Action at Battle of Ft. Loudon, Knoxville, Tn. - Thomas A. Fenn - died of Pnuemonia contracted in the trenches during the seige of Atlanta, Member GA State Line. - Newton Jasper Fenn - Youngest brother, survived war and was present when George W. Fenn died of dysentery approximately 200 yards from where he is buried. George W. Fenn was a Sergeant in Phillips Legion at the time of his death.
