Chris “Reaper” Campbell was active for many years within the underground metal scene, most notably as the front man for New Hampshire-based MARTYRVORE. After joining in 2013, he recorded vocals for their EP “Malevolent Desolation” (2014). The last MARTYRVORE tracks to feature Chris on vocals are a rehearsal recording debuting a song titled “Venereal Appetite” (2015) and the track “Eternal Agony” (2015) that is to be featured on a future compilation album released through Headsplit Records.
Prior to his time in MARTYRVORE, Chris played guitar for a number of groups including FESTERED, SKULLETON, and SCUM BITCH, in addition to his involvement with the more recent project IRON BLASPHEMY. Despite his extensive time as a vocalist, his true passion had always been guitar.
Chris was a dedicated musician, loving boyfriend, and an honest friend to many. His sudden passing was tragic, but the legacy he left behind through his music, selflessness, and charisma will continue to keep his memory alive.
