She was the daughter of Andreas Dauer and Katharina Schmitt both of Germany. She married Nelson Lewis Delaney 17 March 1887 in Baldwin, Randolph Co, IL. He died suddenly in 1897 and she was not able to care for her four young children. The children's names were: Lela Mae Delaney, Frank Lewis Delaney, Bessie Bell Delaney, & Katherine Irene Delaney. She put some up for adoption and the oldest child went to an orphanage. Although she did reconcile with her children after they were grown. She became ill with what I believe to have been Multiple Sclerosis and moved to California living with her oldest daughter until the end of her days. She is my Great Grandmother.
