Anna's husband, Benjamin Franklin Rathbun, 1846-1924, was born in Erie County, New York, to Benjamin Franklin Rathbun, 1810-1889, and Christiana Bennett, 1818-1891. According to census records Anna was born in New York. Anna's widowed husband did not marry again until about 1893, and is found in the 1920 Fed. Census for Elk, Price, Wisconsin, living with his daughter Emma J. Wilmot (first married to Mr. Martin).
An 1880 census has the family in Union, Broome, New York with Benjamin F. age 33; Anna E. 25; Benjamin M. 7; Erma J. 5; Julia B. 3; and Minnie 0.
Benjamin was a carpenter, and it is likely the family moved to Lead City because of the carpentry work that was in great demand at the time.
Anna Eliza DeCamp Rathbun was my 2nd Great Grandmother and her son Benjamin was my 1st Great Grandfather.
I am very grateful to find her burial place and photo of her stone. Thank you very, very much."
