Major League Baseball Player, Professional Football Player. He spent three years in the major leagues as an outfielder for the Chicago Cubs. Prior to joining the Cubs he spent one year as a member of the 1946 Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL), where he threw for 184 yards and rushed for 161 yards on 48 carries. He made his major league debut on July 18th 1947 at the age of 25. He appeared in 63 games during his major league career finishing with 45 hits, five home runs and a career .251 batting average.
