Joyce M. Barton, 83, of Springfield, found everlasting peace at 8:59 A.M., Wednesday, August 31, 2011 in Greenfield, WI. She was born on March 26, 1928 in Virden, IL to Leland and Velma Stayton Oller. Joyce was retired from the SIU School of Medicine for nearly 20 years.

She married Earl C. Barton on July 3, 1946. The two were married for over fifty years. During that time she raised two children, Brenda and Brad, and helped raise three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She will be missed by those that survive her including one daughter: Brenda S. Barton; three grandchildren: Rachel and Sarah Barton, and Summer Barton-Taylor; three great grandchildren: Vincenté and Airiana Demma, and Fiona Barton; two brothers: Lindell (Twila) Oller and Earl Oller; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She will be reunited with those that preceded her in death; her husband, Earl, and her son, Brad Barton.

She dedicated her life to caring for her family and nurturing lasting friendships.

Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date.
