A Lowpoint woman was killed late Tuesday when her car veered off a rural Marshall County road and slammed into a concrete bridge.
Brooke Bruell, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 10:45 p.m. on County Road 800 North, just northwest of Varna, according to the Sheriff's Department.
Bruell had been driving west when her vehicle left the roadway for undetermined reasons, traveled in the ditch for about 350 feet, struck the bridge, and then came to rest on its side after tumbling over on impact, said Sheriff Rob Russell.
Emergency responders arrived on site to find Brooke trapped. It is presumed that an extrication was performed to remove her from the vehicle, but according to reports, she succumbed to injuries sustained during the wreck.
