OBITUARY:
Fetna (Koory) Britt, formerly of Schuyler, died on Thursday, July 6, 2006, at age 86, at her home in Mission Hills, CA. Fette, as she preferred to be called, graduated in 1938 from Schuyler High School, and in 1941 from Creighton University School of Nursing in Omaha. During the War, she worked as a nurse at Lockheed Aircraft Company in Burbank, CA, and, in 1944, married James B. Muff, originally of Minneapolis, MN. Following the War, the couple lived in Jamnagar and Calcutta, India, where her husband owned and operated a freight airline. In 1957, she returned to California, divorced, and in 1959, married James E. Britt of Los Angeles, originally of Bowling Green, KY. She continued to work as a nurse and, in 1980, graduated with a Masters Degree in Health Administration from California State University, Northridge.

Fette was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Burdish and Shickrey Bousamra Koory, M.D., and her stepmother, Flora McKenzie Koory, of Schuyler and Omaha; by her five older siblings, Leona Koory Pollard, Amal Richard Koory, Madonna Koory Halstead, Joseph Florence Koory, and Anita Koory Carson Bennett; and by her husbands, James B. Muff and James E. Britt. She is survived by her partner, Carroll Fitts and her three children, Janet Muff of South Pasadena, CA, Nancy Ryba of Woodland Hills, CA, and James B. Muff, Jr., of Sylmar, CA; by her son-in-law, James D. Boyce, M.D., and daughter-in-law, Karen Beaulieu Muff; and by her grandchildren, Lynda Ryba, Allison Muff, Gregory Muff, and Christopher Muff.

Services are being planned by J. T. Oswald Mortuary, San Fernando, CA, including a Mass to be held at St. Didacus Roman Catholic church in Sylmar, CA, on Monday, July 10, 2006, and burial at Riverside National Cemetery on Tuesday, July 11, 2006.
