Luigia Angela Casella Calamari was born in Cattaragna, Ferriere, Piacenza, ER, Italy on November 18, 1868 to Andrea Casella and Maria Bernardi. She and her two brothers, Antonio and Augusto, arrived in New York on May 31, 1887 aboard the Suevia. She married Filippo Isidoro Calamari at Church of the Transfiguration in Manhattan on June 21, 1887.Isidoro died in November of 1889. They had 2 children, Louis Bruce and Maria Maddalena or Marie. Luigia married Joseph Calamari in April 1893 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Harlem. Her and Joseph had 8 children. They lived in NYC until the early 1910's at which time the family moved to the Essex, CT area. She was widowed for a second time in March of 1913. She lived in the Essex, CT area for 65 years.
