William "Bill" Edward Corl, 66, died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Holy Spirit Hospital.

He was born on May 16, 1947 to the late William H. and Betty Hoffman Corl in Harrisburg.

Bill attended school in Susquehanna Township, Class of 1965.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1965 and received an honorable discharge in 1968.

Bill was a former police officer and retired over the road truck driver.

He was an avid genealogist and had a passion for researching and talking about Marysville history. He also had a deep interest in World War II History.

Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, attending church, camping, fishing, and, in his younger years, riding his motorcycles.

He was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

In addition, Bill was a Life Member of the Perry Historians, a member of the Marysville Historical Society, a Life Member of the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society, and a social member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 107, Marysville.

His love, kindness and compassion will never be forgotten and will be forever missed. Rest in peace my love.

Bill was predeceased by his brother-in-law: Michael Dowdrick.

Surviving him is his wife of twenty-three years: Sandra Dowdrick Corl of Marysville; daughter: Carrie A. Morgan (Ashton) and their children: James, Samantha and Gavin of Boone, North Carolina; sons: William M. (Niki) and their children: Molly and Elisabeth, and Brian D., all of Harrisburg; his sister: Bonnie L. Corl of Harrisburg; his brother: Robert L. (Julie) of New Bloomfield; his aunt: Barb Zeigler of Susquehanna Township; mother-in-law: Virginia Dowdrick of Marysville; nephew: Joseph Dowdrick (Lisa) of Duncannon; his constant companion: Daisy; nieces and nephews; and, many good friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 01:00 PM with a viewing from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM at Wesley United Methodist Church, 450 Sylvan Street, Marysville with the Reverend James O. Parker officiating.

Burial will be in Perry Heights Cemetery, Marysville.
