William H. Corl, Jr., age 51 years, was the son of the late William H. Corl, Sr. and Margaret (Nissley) Corl.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II where he spent the war in the Philippines. He was also a veteran of the Korean War where he received shrapnel wounds and was awarded a Purple Heart. He had a total of twelve years of military service.

On December 23, 1941, he married Betty Hoffman, a nurse he met when he was visiting his sister Sarah Corl in the Polyclinic Hospital.

This union produced three children: William Edward (1947), Bonnie Lee (1948), and Robert Lynn (1951) just before going to Korea.

He was the owner and operator of Corl's Flower Shop and Garden Center of Harrisburg.

He lived to see the first birthday of his grandson: William Mathew Corl, son of William E.

He was a member of the Blue Mountain Lions Club of Susquehanna Township, a Mason of the Robert Burns Lodge, and, a member of the Allied Florist's Association of Harrisburg.

At the time of his death, he was survived by all of his children and sisters and brothers.

His funeral was held at the Fisher Funeral Home.

Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
