"Girl Struck by Lightning"
A Marysville correspondent of the Harrisburg Telegraph under the Date "June 28," gives the following particulars in reference to the death of Sarah Corl;

About 12 o'clock last night as the thunder storm passed over our place the house of Mr. Alfred Corl was struck by lightning, the fluid entered at the comb of the roof and passed down between the weatherboarding and the plastering, tearing everything into atoms. When on a level with the second story windows, the bolt apparently exploded, and a portion of the current passing through the vacuum across the front room, in which one of the daughters was asleep, entering her mouth and passing through the alimentary canal, rupturing the lungs and other internal viscera, causing a rapid effusion of blood into the thoracic cavity, from which she died about six-o'clock this morning.

The young lady was aged about thirteen years. Not a particle of the effects of the stroke was visible about the bed cloths or bedstead. Dr. Everhart and Dr. Treavor were called in consultation, but medical aid was unavailable.

Sarah Corl was interred in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, in Marysville.
