Mary was the fourth of seven children born to Sarah Rodda and John Eva. She married George Dobson in England in 1867. The couple moved to Wales where their first daughter (my great grandmother), Mary Elizabeth, was born.
The family immigrated to the United States, traveling from England on the ship Helvetia, and arrived at Castle Garden, New York City, New York, on August 14, 1868. Mary gave birth to ten more children in the United States: Sarah, George James, Emma Laura, Minnie Eva, Lucinda, Viola Fanny, Laura May, Harry, Leroy, and another infant who died.
Cause of death: organic heart disease
