Vince met Filomena while he was stationed in the Philippines. He was discharged from the Army on March 4, 1946, and they were married on March 23, 1946 in the Catholic Church of St. Bartholomew in Catbalogan on the island of Samar. The ceremony was performed by Monsignor Vicente Figeroa. The couple moved to the U.S. shortly afterwards, where they raised three sons and three daughters. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service.
