He owned and operated the Goode Hunt Store and was U.S. Postmaster (1895-1887), Bill Arp, Douglas County. As of this date. his store still exit and now is Café.

The Hunts moved from the Mt. Zion District of Spalding County along with other families that had settled in Douglas County during the 1870's and 1880's looking for work.
