Born a daughter of the late Chester and Clara(Souser)Kimmel, Dorothy married Kenneth L. Hoover on December 21, 1940. He preceded her in death September 26, 1980.
Mrs. Hoover was a homemaker, worked at the Colony Shop, and later retired from Butterick, Altoona. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening, bowling, drawing, and the companionship fo her faithful dog, Whoopie.
She is survived by children, Richard D.(Betty), Elaine(John Root), Duane P.(Marjorie), and Kenneth L. Jr.(Muriel), and a sister, Winifred Benton of Claysburg. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hoover was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, two brothers, Ross and Cloyd Kimmel, one sister, Mary Jane Laird and an infant grand-daughter (Root).
Friends were received at Liebegott-Brown Funeral Home. Pastor Marlys Hershberger officiated with graveside services following at Carson Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions made to American Heart Association.
