Mrs. Kimmel, 93, of Claysburg, died at 5:20 a.m. Friday, March 15, 1991, at Valley View Home.

She was born in Bedford May 9, 1897, the youngest of six children to Theodore and Clara Belle (Earnest) Souser. Shortly after her birth, her mother died and Clara was raised by maternal grandparents, William H. and Angeline (Wolfe) Earnest. She married Chester W. Kimmel Nov. 22, 1913, in Cumberland, Md. He died July 6, 1944.

Clara is survived by daughters: Mary Jane (Benji) Laird of Erie, Dorothy (Kenneth L.) Hoover Sr. of Duncansville, Winifred (Sherm) Benton of Claysburg; daughters-in-Law, Millie, and Naomi; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grand children, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons: Ross W. in 1975 and Cloyd C. in 1979.

Mrs. Kimmel was a member of the Claysburg United Methodist Church.

Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday March 16, at Marvin C. Leslie Funeral Home, Claysburg. Services Sunday 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Tiffany M. Freeman officiating. Interment at Claysburg Union Cemetery,

Bedford Gazette states that Chester Willard Kimmell and Clara Bell Souser of Wolfsburg, were granted a marriage license in Cumberland the week of November 27, 1913. Chester preceded her in death, July 4, 1944.
