KIMBALL TWP. Jack A. Murray, 33, of Kimball Township, entered into eternal rest Saturday, November 5, 2005 in Port Huron Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born September 27, 1972 in Port Huron to Jack and Kay Murray.
Mr. Murray was a police officer with the City of Marysville and previously served as a deputy with the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of the Marysville High School Class of 1991.
Mr. Murray attended Ferris State University, Wayne State University, St. Clair County Community College and graduated from the Macomb County Community College Police Academy.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack (Kay) Murray of Marysville; a sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ken (Beth) Mareski of St. Clair; four brothers, Mr. and Mrs. John (Laurie) Stoliker of Marysville, Mr. and Mrs. Kurt (Wendy) Stoliker of Poolesville, Maryland, Mr. and Mrs. Eric (Sarah) Stoliker of Chicago, Illinois and Aaron Stoliker of Ann Arbor; two nieces, Amber Mareski and Charlotte Stoliker; two nephews, Jacob and Sam Stoliker; his fiancée, Tammy Fontenot; and his aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Dick (Fay) Striker, Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm (Rae Ann) Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Randy (Micki) Butch, Mary Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Jan (Mary) Rumbaugh, Mr. and Mrs. Sonny (Carroll) Jiske, Cathy Murray and James Murray; cousin, Brooke Hendrick, several other cousins and many friends who loved him like a son and brother.
Jack was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alton (Mary Jane) Murray and Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Bernadette) Striker; and his uncle, William Murray.
Visitation will be 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Wednesday in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Mr. Murray will lie in state at St. Christopher Catholic Church on Thursday, November 10, 2005 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. The Reverend Arthur R. Baranowski will officiate.
The Rite of Committal will follow in Riverlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John, Kurt, Eric and Aaron Stoliker, Steven Murray, Ken, Beth and Amber Mareski, and Brooke Hendrick.
In memory of Jack, a scholarship fund for students pursuing a career in law enforcement is being established with the Marysville School District. Checks should be made payable to the Marysville School District.
