Marine Lance Cpl. Jon E. Bowman, 21, of Dubach, La.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed Oct. 9 while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Ramadi, Iraq. Also killed were Sgt. Julian M. Arechaga and Pfc. Shelby J. Feniello. Jon is survived by his wife, Dawn Bowman of Summerfield, LA; mother, Jill Puckett and husband Dennis of Sharon Community, LA; father, Johnny W. Bowman and wife Susan of Monroe, LA; sisters, Megan Bowman and Ashley Bellot and husband Jonathan all of Monroe, LA; brother, Logan Puckett of Sharon Community, LA; paternal grandmother, Louise Futch Ramsey of Laran, LA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Paula Farley of Summerfield, LA; brothers-in-law, Shane and Alex Farley; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers were Sgt. Richard Meredith, Lcpl. Thomas Lay, Lcpl. Michael Rath, Cpl. Stacey Smith.
