Miriam Pauline Huffman, 86, died Thursday, September 18, 2008, at a local nursing center in Sumter, S.C.

Born in Portsmouth, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Charles Melvin Huffman and the late Lillian Dresbach Huffman.

Miss Huffman was a long time member of Bigelow Methodist Church in Portsmouth,Ohio and retired office worker for Cyclops Steel Company in Ohio. She was an avid bowler and bowled a 656 series in 1990. She was also a long time baseball fan of the Cincinnati Reds.

Surviving are one sister, Joyce Rickman of Sumter; two brothers, Charles Huffman of Springfield, Ohio and Clyde Huffman of Portsmouth, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Orin, Milton and Reginald Huffman; and one sister, Roberta Huffman.

Services will be held at noon Saturday at F.C. Daehler Morturary Company in Portsmouth, Ohio with the Rev. Matthew Brooks officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 am to noon Saturday at F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company. Burial will be in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg, Ohio.

Memorials may be made to the South Carolina Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 4124 Clemson Blvd., Suite L., Anderson, SC 29621.
