ALBION R. KELLEY
Albion R. Kelley, 54, of 408 North Milner street, died in the Ottumwa hospital Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Mr. Kelley was taken to the hospital about 8 a.m. Tuesday morning by Deputy Sheriff Pat Maloney after the man was found lying near the Shaul cemetery, officers said. He suffered a heart ailment.
He was the son of George and Ella Kelley and was born December 14, 1883, in Appanoose county. He had lived in Ottumwa for the last six years. Mr. Kelley was a member of the Christian church at Blakesburg.
Surving are his wife, Grace; two daughters, Margorie and Marie, at home; three sons, Lloyd of Ft. Des Moines and Maurice and Merle at home; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Rumley of Unionville, Mrs. Nell Tallman of Dubuque and Miss Sarah Kelley of Detroit, and two brothers, Roy Kelley of Detroit and Will Kelley of Ottumwa.
Services will be in Johnson's funeral chapel Thursday at 3:30 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Roy C. Leeds. Burial will be in the Shaul cemetery.
Albion Ransom Kelley was the son of George E. and Ella Frances (Bean) Kelley. Born 14 December 1883 in Sharon, Appanoosa County, Iowa where they lived on their farm two miles west of the town. Albion married Grace Ellen Smith on the 20th of October 1911 at the courthouse in Bloomfield, Iowa.
Albion and Grace Ellen moved to Blakesburg, Iowa where on 22 Sept. 1912 they started their family with the birth of Lloyd Ransom Kelley. At one time Albion and Grace E. lived in Denver, Colorado after Lloyd R. was born.
Then Albion got sick and a doctor was called to their house. Seems as Albions's tonsils had gotten infected. He had to sit in on a kitchen chair for twenty-four hours after the doctor removed a long sack of puss on each side. After this event Albion told everyone that he could feel the sack coming out from his sides down to his stomach.
He had the opportunity to become the manager of the Denver Theater, but Grace got home sick and they moved back to Iowa.
