Merle Franklin Kelley, 32, of 2218 West Main Street, died at University Hospital in Iowa City at 5:30 a.m. Sunday 13 July 1958 following an illness of several months. The son of Albion Ransom Kelley and Grace Ellen Smith, he was born at Blakesburg, Iowa Monday 3 Aug 1925. He married Gloria Stevenson on Sunday 29 Oct 1950 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter Sharon at home two brothers, Maurice H. Kelley, of Ottumwa and Lloyd Ransom Kelley of Hedrick and two sisters, Mrs. Marie Jerred and Mrs. Marjorie Johns both of Ottumwa.
His parents preceded him in his death.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson Funeral Chapel. Conducted by the Rev. A. D. Pringle, pastor of Ottumwa Baptist Temple. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery, Ottumwa in Wapello County, Iowa. Northwest 1/4 Lot #243 Block 3 lot owned by Mrs. Merle Kelley. Died of congestive heart failure.
