CROWE- Ray D. Crowe, of 2219 N.E. 8th St., Porland, died in that city, July 9, 1953, at the age of 71 years. He was born June 4, 1882, in Eugene, Oregon, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Crow, a pioneer Eugene family. He was in the contracting business in Portland for many years. He attended the first local high school and later attended the University of Oregon, and graduated from the Albany College, played on Albany's champion Northwest Football team when it was coached by Bill Hayward. He belonged to the local miltia in Eugene when he was here and also Eugene Lodge B.P.O.E. He is survived by 3 children: Eva Slack of Los Angeles, Beatrice Ericksen of Portland, and Carl Crowe of Camas, Wash.; 1 brother, Ralph C. Crowe of Eugene, 4 grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held in Simon-Lounsbury Mortuary, Monday, July 13, at 11:00 a.m. Internment in the Masonic Cemetery.
