Mr. Johnson was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force having served during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Johnson was retired from Western Electric in Houston and he had also worked for Windham School District where he was a vocational electrical trades teacher and was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Patsy Johnson, of Wesley Chapel; daughter Tricia LaRue and husband Charles, of Wesley Chapel; granddaughter Christina LaRue, of Wesley Chapel; brother Ed Johnson and wife LeQuana, of Wesley Chapel; sister Henrietta Johnson McFall, of Wesley Chapel; sister-in-law Hazel Johnson, of Crockett; brothers-in-law Terry Stewart and wife Kristi, of Austonio and Jerry Stewart and wife Betty, of Crockett; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by his parents John Robert and Ima Lee Jennings Johnson; brothers, Frank, Tommy, Robert "Dude" and Paul Johnson; and sisters Lena Pearl Owen and Maude Gossett
Funeral services for Mr. Durwood Johnson were held Friday, February 16, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Darryl Bennett and Mr. Trey Sissom officiating.
Military graveside services followed in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
