Mrs. Mildred Nina Hoch, age 87, of Tadmor, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013. Mrs. Hoch was born December 11, 1925 in Lacombe, Alberta, Canada to John and Belle Dahl Brevik.

She married John Junior Hoch on June 28, 1945 in Everette, Washington at the home of her parents. She graduated from high school in Ferndale, Washington, where she was a talented musician playing the saxophone in the high school band. She was a homemaker, along with working with her husband driving their own truck for many years, she was one of the first women team drivers in the trucking industry.

After they retired from truck driving and returned to Houston County, at age 62, she went to work for the US Forest Service, where she retired with 21 years of service. She also loved the outdoors, and enjoyed camping and traveling, and working in her woodshop. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Kennard.

Survived by children, Ralph and Darlene Hoch of Latexo, Billy and Carol Anne Hoch of Tadmor, Nancy Lee Hoch of Huntington, Robert Lynn and Sonya Hoch of Grapeland; nine grandchildren, Rocky Allen Hoch and wife Chasity of Latexo, Jerrod Hoch and wife Sarah of Nacogdoches, Jeffrey Hoch and wife Joelene of Crockett, Kristi Hoch of Tadmor, Brent Greusel of Huntington, Brian Greusel of Livingston, Jeremy Hoch of Frisco, Ryan Hoch of Dallas, Jamie Hoch and wife Elizabeth of Longview; seventeen great-grandchildren, Michael, John, Hannah, Taylor, William, Tyler, Lauryn, Hayden, Annalee, Megan, Laura, Wyatt, Noah, Harlie, Monica, Jacob and Addison; sister-in-law, Betty Brevik of Eugene Oregon; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Troy and Mildred Hoch of Kerrville; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John Junior Hoch; parents, John and Belle Dahl Brevik; sister, Julia Brevik Klimp, and brothers, Melvin, Jim, George, Ernie, Clifford and Ralph Brevik.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Hoch were held Friday, June 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Brent Cemetery.
