After not graduating high school, he did a short stint in the Marine Corps. that didn't end well. He then worked sporadically at odd jobs, nothing skilled. Plagued with desires to use drugs, he fled the racy life in Southern California to a very rural part of Idaho and although the drug use continued, it was not as crazy as before. He and his family took part in the protests at Ruby Ridge where a family who were facing weapons violations were shot at by law enforcement and a woman was killed while holding her infant. The siege lasted 11 days and made national news.

Don spent the rest of his life in Idaho and never returned to California except for very brief visits.

Although an obituary appeared for Don in a local newspaper in Idaho, I ask that it not be posted here. Much of the information in that obituary is not true. I do not like false information about my brother posted on the internet.

Also please note that his real name is Don and not Donald after our father. My father already had a son named Donald from a previous marriage.
