CRISTI ANN (DOWNES) LANE
MOHAWK - Cristi Ann (Downes) Lane, 24, of Las Vegas, Nev., died after a long illness Thursday evening, June 20, 1996, at the home of her parents in Mohawk with her loving family at her bedside.
She was born Jan. 8, 1972 in Herkimer, a daughter of Robert D. and Carol Ann Wells Downes. Cristi was a graduate of Mohawk High School and Herkimer Community College where she received an associates degree in accounting.
On Oct. 31, 1994, she married Dana J. Lane in Las Vegas. From 1989 until her marriage she had worked for Burger King in Herkimer. While living in Las Vegas she had worked as a pre-school teacher at the Little Scholar Day Care Center.
Cristi's warm gentle smile and sparkling eyes will remain in the hearts of everyone who has been blessed by knowing and sharing her life.
Surviving are her husband, Dana J. Lane; her parents, Robert and Carol Downes; two brothers, Robert D. Downes, Jr. and Daniel Downes and a sister, Cathryn Downes, all of Mohawk; paternal grandparents, R. Robert and Mary Downes of Palatine Bridge; a great-grandfather, Leland Priest of Ogdensburg; several aunts, uncles and cousins, and a special friend, Jennifer Lamanna of Latham.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Little Falls First Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald L. Dixon, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills.
Calling hours were Sunday at the Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court St., Herkimer, N.Y.
