The youngest son of John E. Vint and Emma L. Butcher, "Lee's" first wife was Ethel May Barrow, whom he wed in Monroe County, Indiana on 11 Jan 1915. They were the parents of 3 children.
Lee served in the United States Army from 1917 to 1919. He was stationed in France as part of the U.S. forces there during World War I. While he was in the service, the Vints' oldest child, 2-year-old Alice, died after accidentally drinking lye water.

Lee married "Minnie" Hoelzel on 23 Jun 1924 at the Third Baptist Church in St. Louis (city), Missouri. He made his living as a plumber while the new couple moved first to Oregon and Washington for two years, and then to Ohio for the next eight.
During this time, the family began taking in foster children, a few at a time. In total, they would eventually help raise seventeen children over the next two decades.
Minnie lost a baby in 1930, but gave birth to the couple's only surviving child, a son, twelve months later. In 1934, the family moved to Baden, a town in St. Louis County, Missouri.
Two years later, the Vints had a new house built on six acres of land in north St. Louis County. Lee continued to support the family as a plumber, while Minnie cared for their son, foster children and tended a very large vegetable garden. Lee was a member of Plumbers' Local Union No. 35 United Association and worked for Miner Plumbing Company.

Lee died suddenly and unexpectedly of a cerebral hemorrhage on the morning of his 54th birthday. He was buried on 23 May 1951 and was survived by his wife, Minnie; 2 sons, Leo Vint of Indiana, and (Living) Vint of St. Louis County, Missouri; 1 daughter, Ruth Vint of Monroe County, Indiana; 1 grandson, (Living) Smith of Indiana; and 1 granddaughter, (Living) Vint of Indiana.
In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Alice Vint; 1 son, Robert Vint; and 4 brothers, Vine, Clarence, Tom and Tobe Vint.
V. F. W. rites were performed at 8 p.m. on 22 May 1951. Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. the following afternoon at Diedrich Funeral Home in north St. Louis County, Missouri.
