Letha was the beautiful, talented, much-loved youngest daughter of Billy Joe Snodgrass, Jr., and Vanessa Penley Snodgrass.

She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Lenoir, where she was active in both the music and youth ministry.

Letha was preceded in death by her grandfather, Cecil Monroe Penley, and her uncle, John Frederick Penley.

In addition to her parents, Letha is survived by her paternal grandparents, Billy Joe Snodgrass, Sr. and Peggy Sue Snodgrass; maternal grandmother, Anna Joy Penley; brother, Billy Joe Snodgrass III; sister, Anna LaShay Dulaney and husband, Robert; niece, McKenzie Hope Dulaney; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of Letha's life was held at Temple Baptist Church on Saturday, March 31, 2012, with Pastor Joel Bixler officiating.

Letha was interred in the Temple Baptist graveyard, up the hill behind the church in Lenoir, North Carolina. She rested there until October 20, 2021, when her remains were exhumed, then re-interred in Washington County Memory Gardens, Johnson City, Tennessee.

At an early age Letha placed her trust in Christ for the salvation of her never-dying soul. By faith we believe she is safe in heaven, using her beautiful voice to sing praises to her Savior, and that someday soon, we will see her sweet happy face again.

Beyond the years the answer lies,
Beyond where brood the grieving skies
And Night drops tears.
Where Faith rod-chastened smiles to rise
And doff its fears,
And carping Sorrow pines and dies —
Beyond the years.

Beyond the years the prayer for rest
Shall beat no more within the breast;
The darkness clears,
And Morn perched on the mountain's crest
Her form uprears —
The day that is to come is best,
Beyond the years.

Beyond the years the soul shall find
That endless peace for which it pined,
For light appears,
And to the eyes that still were blind
With blood and tears,
Their sight shall come all unconfined
Beyond the years.

How far is it called to the grave?
The child looked up from its play.
The grave? I have not heard of the grave.
It must be far away.

How far is it called to the grave?
The lover looked up with a smile.
How far? From the golden land of love
It must be many a mile.

He could not see that his darling
With the bridal flowers in her hair,
As he gave her the wedding token,
Was almost there.

How far is it called to the grave?
The mother looked up with a tear,
The rose in her cheek grew pale and white,
Her heart stood still with fear.

How far? O 'tis close to the hearthstone;
Alas for the baby feet,
The little bare feet that all unled,
Are going with step so fleet,
And they are almost there.

How far is it called to the grave?
It is only a life, dear friend,
And the longest life is short at last,
And soon our lives must end.

But there is One Who arose from the grave,
Who ascended triumphant on high,
With our trust in Him, we'll know no sting,
Though low in the graves we lie,
And we're almost there.
