Danford Odell Adams was born 11 Sept 1844 in Whiteside, ILL to Archibald Adams and Mary Ann "Polly" Grannis-Adams. He was married to Eliza Jane Hawkins on 5 Nov. 1868 in Coffee County, KS. They had 5 children: Fred Odell Adams, Zelma Emma Adams-Smith, Minnie Mae Adams-Marsh, Tony Ross Adams and Archie Adams-Hankins.

Funeral services for Danford O. Adams, 80 years old, who died Monday morning, will be conducted at the home of 210 W. 27th street south Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Besides his wife he is survived by five children, Fred Adams, Chicago; Mrs. J.C. Smith, Sawtolle, Cal.; Mrs. M.C. Marsh, Los Angeles, Cal.; Tony Adams, Amarillo, Texas and Mrs. H.H. Hankins, Oklahoma City. Burial will be in Fairlawn cemetery by Capitol Hill Undertaking company.
