Fred was a hard working farmer and school teacher. He and his loving wife, Arminta Mae, raised 9 children. Their first born, a son Rhuell, was also the first to die. Tragically he died young as a result of spinal meningitis.

When Fred died he was survived by his wife of more than 50 years, 8 of his children and numerous grandchildren.

Fred and Arminta moved to California in the 1940's. Their sons Terence & Paul built their home for them in Ocean Beach, San Diego where they would spend the rest of their lives.

During WWII Fred worked at Consolidated Aircraft Corp. in San Diego helping to build aircraft for the war effort. He began working there in March, 1943.
