On 16th July 2000, Sara and her mother, Michelle Koski, ate dinner together at their home in South Carolina. Sara's siblings then ate their dinner on the deck while Sara and Michelle sat on the couch watching out the sliding glass door as the others ate. At around 7:00pm, Sara's siblings began to argue so Michelle left Sara on the couch to see what was going on. The other adults were still inside eating. Within minutes, Michelle came inside, Sara was still on the couch, and she began sorting some laundry. The kids got out of the pool and came inside it was then when Michelle noticed Sara was no longer on the couch. Her heart sank and she began to panic. She ran through the house looking in all the rooms and in her little hiding places. She wasn't there. She ran out of the backdoor, and she saw her, floating face-down in the swimming pool. Sara was limp and blue. CPR was performed, ambulances arrived but baby Sara sadly could not be saved.
