Ethel I. Jones, formerly of Sterling, died Thursday, October 8, 1987, at Tucson Medical Center, Tucson Arizona. Born Ethel I. Deadmond August 20, 1921, on a farm southwest of Sterling, she attended grade school at Walnut Grove and Huntsville. She graduated from Hesston High School and she married William Jones. They lived for many years in Alaska before moving to Tucson in 1963. Her parents, Laura and Homer Deadmond preceded her in death, along with her brother, Dale, and sisters, Wanda and Vesta.
Survivors include the husband of the home; sisters, Thelma Caviness, Seattle, Washington; Hazel Hughes, Middleton, Ohio; Irene Reynolds, Chanute, Grace Deeter, Benton, Texas; brothers, Blake and Elmer, both of Modesto, California.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Peace Valley Cemetery, Sterling, with the Rev. J. Douglas Neumann officiating.
