Jan was a wonderful person who saw something good in every situation. She was nicknamed "Polly-Janna!" I know her from the IP (Insulin Pumpers) support group. IP is a wonderful on-line group of people with diabetes using insulin pumps or contemplating using one. It is a group with a wealth of information, and Jan was someone who contributed much of it. Her pump's name was Elvis, and she signed all her posts "Jan & Elvis." She was so supportive of everyone and had so much to offer.

Jan had her share of medical problems... more than her share, actually, but she took them all with a "glass half full" attitude. She had been sick lately, but no one expected her to die. What a shock to all of us.

Janna was a member of United Hebrew Congregation and the United Hebrew Congregation Sisterhood. She was a reporter and Business Editor for the Tribune Star and was currently a freelance writer specializing in diabetes. She enjoyed her grandchildren, cooking and traveling.

Jan is survived by her husband, a daughter, her mother, 3 brothers and 2 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her father.

Rest in Peace, Jan. You are dearly missed by all of us.
