The family, as best as I can tell moved directly after landing at the Port of New York to Dearborn County, Indiana where the family log cabin stood into the 2000's. The Drakes then moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1849 and William and his family moved to Springfield, Illinois in about 1858, Lewis stayed behind in Dearborn to work the land as a farmer.
The Drake family of Springfield occupied the same house until the last daughter, Annie Pearl Drake, died there in 1950. There is a fire station on the land where the house once stood at 827 E. Capitol Way, right across the street from President Lincoln's Estate.

William Drake, prominent retired business man of Springfield, died at 9:!5 o'clock last evening at his home, 827 East Capitol Avenue, death resulting from the infirmities of old age. Mr. Drake was 87 years old and has resided in Springfield since 1858. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, November 25, 1833, coming to Illinois shortly after his marriage to Miss Mary A. Houser of Somerset, Ohio. For forty years he was engaged in the boiler manufacturing business, retiring from active work in the business world ten years ago.
Decedent is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary A. Drake and the following daughters: Mrs. Francis I. Newman, Mrs. Oscar Artsman, Mrs. William Shriver, Miss Annie P. Drake, of Springfield, and Mrs. C. J. Duddleston of Memphis, TN. Eight grandchildren living are: William B. Drake, George H. Drake of Omaha, Neb.; Dorothy Drake Duddleston and Louis Duddleston of Memphis, Tenn.; Mary Elizabeth Artsman and Ann Drake Artsman, Frances Ann Shriver and Wellman Shriver of Springfield. IL.
