Funeral services for Bobby Ray Watkins, Sr., 70, will be held at 4:00 pm Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Bill Perry and the Rev. Wayne Parker will officiate with burial in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Monday at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.

Mr. Watkins, widower of Sherry Watkins, died Sunday, August 21, 2016. Born in Hartsville, SC, he was a son of the late George Haney and Oddie B. Brown Watkins. He was a retired self-employed mechanic, entrepreneur and a man full of the Holy Spirit and love for others. Especially devoted to his family, he lived life to the fullest. He started multiple local business including cabinetry, mechanics, auto sales, auto parts supply, auto transport, family-owned restaurants, designed and created a motocross sports racing track, ministries including Christ Center Community with a focus on feeding the homeless with partnerships with local restaurants, The Lord’s Prayer Tent, a mission of worship and prayer, and co-founded Grace Chapel, a local community church.

Surviving are his daughters, Paula Watkins of Charlotte, NC, Nicole (Arnold) Floyd of Hartsville, SC, ; brothers, George Haney (Kay) Watkins of Coronado, CA, John D. (Judy) Watkins of Hartsville, SC; sister, Abbie (Laney) Barr of Farmington, NM; grandchildren, Elizabeth Floyd, Joshua Floyd, Aaron Floyd, Robert Watkins, Terrence Watkins, Daniel P. Watkins.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Ray Watkins, Jr.
