Mrs. Mianda McMaster, 82, a resident of Alda for forty-two years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Schwartz, 514 West Seventh street, at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, death resulting from heart trouble, complicated with dropsy, though she did not become serious until about four weeks ago.

She was born in Ohio, December 20, 1845. Her first husband, James Stewart, died in 1881 and in 1885 she was married to Benjamin McMaster, who died June 18, 1924. Shortly after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. McMaster came to Hall county and located on a farm three miles northwest of Alda, where she continued to make her home until thirteen months ago, when, because of failing health, she came to Grand Island to reside with her daughter.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Margaret McMaster (sic), of Central City; Mrs. Catherine Williams, of Omaha; Mrs. William Schwartz, of Grand Island; two sons, J. S. Stewart, of Bonnie Claire, Nevada; and Benjamin McMaster, of Alda; and one step-daughter, Grace Rumbarger, of Alda. Four children have preceded her in death. Two brothers, C. A. Gilmer, of Fairfield, Ia., and N. S. Gilmer, of Albion, Neb., also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Evans chapel, 418 West Fourth street,Rev. P. M. Hillman, of Trinity M. E. church officiating, assisted by Rev. Foxworthy, of the Friends' church, Alda. Burial will be in the Alda cemetery.
