Florence (Warren) Van Etten, 90, of Boulder Hill, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 1990 at Copley Memorial Hospital. She was born November 20, 1899 in Adams County, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Rev. Frank E. and Helen (Bell) Warren.
She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Oswego. She was a graduate of New Auburn High School in 1918 in New Auburn, Wisconsin. Her first year out of high school, she was a rural mail carrier out of New Auburn Rt.#1 in Chippewa County, Wisconsin. She graduated from Indiana Central College with an Education Certificate. She taught school for 12-1/2 years, 4 years being at a Spanish Mission School in Alcalde, New Mexico. In 1986, she returned to Alcalde, New Mexico to visit former students, what a wonderful memory Survivors include four daughters, Dorothy (August) Seidelman, of Oswego, Mrs. Enid (William) Haacker, of East Brunswick, New Jersey, Mary Bell (Richard) Lucas, of Boulder Hill and Mrs. Nancy (Gary) Weaver, of Boulder Hill; three sons, Robert (Edythe) Van Etten of Oswego, Harold (Jacquelyn) Van Etten of Plano and Warren (Joyce) Van Etten of Inverness, Florida; 28 grandchildrfen; 26 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; a sister, Hazel (Donald) Corrick, of Hayward, Wisconsin; a bother, Frank (Bernice) Warren of Merrill, Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Z. Van Etten, whom she married on December 28, 1933 and two brothers, Douglas Warren and Richard Warren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 27 at 10 am at the Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist in Oswego with Rev., Philip M. Dripps officiating. Burial will take place at the Oswego Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 26 from 3 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm at the McKeown-Dunn Funeral Home, Ltd. in Oswego. Memorials may be given to the Church of the Good Shepherd.
