Obituary of Dorothy Bolden

Dorothy Bolden, 79, of Atlantic City was born March 18, 1931, in Anderson, South Carolina; departed this life to be home with the Lord on Sunday, September 5, 2010, at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point, N.J.

Dorothy was the oldest of 12 children who were born to James and Sarah Bolden. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Anderson, South Carolina. She was a resident of Atlantic City, N.J. for more than 55 years and was a loving mother and devoted grandmother to all of her family.

Dorothy loved baseball and would watch the Mets play faithfully. She loved life and enjoyed each day given, with the warm and wonderful personality that she had. Dorothy was employed at Harrah's Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City where she retired after 15 years of service.

She was predeceased by: her long time companion of more then 40 years, Ben Hill; a brother, Marshall Bolden, a sister, Margaret Bolden; and grandson, Julian R. Bond. She also leaves to cherish her memory: sons, Ronnie D. Bolden (Lilly) of Anderson, South Carolina, Douglas D. Bolden (Danette) of Egg Harbor Township; daughter, Deborah (David) Bond of Pleasantville; sister, Etrulia Burris; brothers, Larry, Willy, Johnny, Landers, Rocky, and Jocktan Bolden all of Anderson, South Carolina; grandchildren, David Jr.,(Robin), Sheena, Jessica, Vernee, Michael, Douglas Jr., Dupres', Desean and Shay; eight great-grandchildren; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, additional family and friends.
