Born to Frank P. and Gertrude M. Barnes Bogner, he married R. Aileen Maubach on June 24, 1950, in Lacon. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Alan E.; six brothers, Howard J., Jack F., D. William, Robert P., James J. and Richard T.; and four sisters, Mary E. Maher, Mrs. Joe (K. Jean) Moore, G. Arlene Britt and Dorothy A. Westerfield.

One daughter, Joyce Ann Bogner, and one sister preceded him in death.

He farmed in Bradford and later retired as a car salesman in Peoria. He last worked part time as a driver for Morton Auto Auction.
