JAMES L. BACON, SR.,
James L. Bacon, Sr., 42, of 1355 North Broadway, died today at Burge -Protestant Hospital, following a short illness. He was admitted to the hospital April 2.
Mr. Bacon a lifelong Springfield resident, was a salesman for Holsum Bread Company. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. A Veteran of World War II, he was a member of Teamsters union Local no. 28.
Survivors include his wife, Eva; six sons, Jim, a student at Washington University Medical school and Richard, Greg, Joe, Bill and Dave, all of the home and five daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Burton, Michigan City, Ind., and Mrs. Bonnie Dorsey, Grace, Mary and Patricia, all of the home, also surviving is his stepfather, Elmer Chamberlain, Tulsa.
Arrangements are under direction of Herman Lohmeyer.
