DONALD "Sam" LEE ARMSTRONG, SR., 77, of Boonsboro, passed from this life on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at his home. Born on August 29, 1938 in Chewsville, Maryland, he was the son of the late George and Florence (Palmer) Armstrong.
Sam was a 1956 Graduate of Boonsboro High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1960 until 1963. Sam had previously worked 23 years as a tool and die maker for the American Optical Company in Frederick, Maryland, and he retired in 2003 from Rose Enclosures in Buckeystown, Maryland. He was member of the Clopper-Michael American Legion Post 10 in Boonsboro.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis K. (Morgan) Armstrong; one son, Donald Lee Armstrong, II; one grandson; and one great grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Robert and George Armstrong.
A graveside service will be held at the Boonsboro Cemetery.
