Country music guitarist. When he was five years old, his father gave him a guitar and Johnny took to it naturally, performing at school events and on local radio. As a young man, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1950 and was honorably discharged in 1954. In Birmingham, Alabama, he became a regular performer on the Country Boy Eddy Show and briefly toured with Tammy Wynette. After assembling his own band, he performed in area nightclubs and eventually opened his own club, "Johnny Gore's Country Palace". In later years, he retired to a home he built of cross ties near Lake Logan Martin. He spent his retirement years tinkering with cars and his garden. He died from complications of a stroke.
