Thelma M. Baker, Loan Secretary, Dies at Age of 56

Mrs. Thelma M. Baker, 56, of 207 N. St. Clair, died Sunday in Wesley Hospital.

Born July 4, 1906, at Eddy, Okla., Mrs. Baker moved to Wichita in 1924 from Oklahoma. She was a secretary at Southwest Citizens Federal Savings & Loan Association. Her husband, Howard L. Baker, attorney, died in 1958.

She was a member of St. Luke's Methodist Church.

Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur M. McCann, Tonkawa, Okla.; two brothers, Lloyd V. McCann, McAllester, Okla., and Kenneth M. McCann, Tonkawa; three sisters, Mrs. Hulda M. Abele, 238 N. Meridian, Mrs. Mildred A. Updegraff, Ponca City, Okla., and Mrs. Dorothy E. Purdy, Tonkawa.

Byrd - Snodgrass Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma M. Baker, 56, of 207 N. St. Clair, who died Sunday at Wesley Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Byrd-Snodgrass Mortuary.

The Rev. Bert Rymph, pastor of St. Luke's Methodist Church, and the Rev. Forrest Reynolds, Newton, Kan. will officiate.

Entombment will be in Old Mission Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Edward F. Arn, Oscar F. Belin, Lawrence Curfman, Charles E. Jones, Richard F. Mullins and Paul W. Schmidt.
